What have we learned from 9/11? Obviously nothing. It has been 4 years since 9/11 and again we are faced with a disaster (this time a natural disaster). Yet after all the money we have spent on emergency management and preparing for the worst, we can't even handle a simple hurricane. It is chaos in New Orleans. People are dying every minute and thousands are stranded in the city. Looting is out of control and at least 5000 National Guardsmen are helping local law enforcement secure the city. Where has all our tax money gone to?

Imagine an artificial disaster (like a terrorist attack) in a major city like New Orleans. Things would be even worse. It is obvious that we are still not safe from any kind of disaster despite all the money we have spent on preparing for disasters. If we can't even handle a natural disaster, how are we ever going to handle a terrorist attack? Bush needs to get off his ass and literally step into the Superdome and see how his hard work has paid off.
